Following on from the success of our first festive workshop in 2018 on 17th December 2019 we once again hosted ‘Santa’s Festive Workshop’ inviting along children of families Hospice of the Valleys have supported.

With the help of the Fundraising, Nursing and Family Support Teams and from our wonderful volunteers the workshop allowed the children to take part in fun festive activities from decorating biscuits and colouring to making novelty reindeers and tree decorations.  This was followed by a visit to Father Christmas where the children were all given a small gift and a photo as a memento.

As an added extra this year we had a magician, Josh Hooper, in attendance who thrilled and mesmerised both children and adults with his magic tricks.

The event is a free workshop and something our Fundraising Team established to enable the families we support to attend a festive event in a safe environment where our specialist team are on hand to engage with them and their families.

It was a delight to see so many happy children all keen to show staff a trick or two and their artistic skills with some staff caricatures.

Eight children attended with their parents and carers and they all went away with their hand made goods, treats bag and a smile on their face.

Thank you to everyone who supported the event!
