Extra Mile Challenge

July 1 - July 31

Go The Extra Mile Challenge has certainly done that!  Challenge Complete!

Our amazing Go The Extra Mile supporters have gone even further and have so far collectively raised over £3,500 and covered a distance of over 1,200 miles and still counting!

We are so proud of everyone who took part in this month long challenge!  This was our first attempt of organising a longer virtual challenge and we couldn’t be more happier.

Not only has an incredible amount of money been raised but also we have heard so many personal targets achieved and smashed, people journeys and pushing their limits not to mention some of the beautiful scenery and our extended friends across the globe.

A heart felt thank you to everyone who has supported this challenge – the real superheroes out there that allows the Hospice to continue to do what it does best, providing support to patients living with a life limiting illness and their loved ones.  We couldn’t do it without you!

We’re excited to bring you a new virtual challenge – Go the Extra Mile for Hospice of the Valleys.

Every day Hospice staff go the extra mile to support patients living with a life-limiting illness and those who matter most to them.

In 2019 we supported;

During July we are asking supporters to be creative and go the extra mile; walk, jog, run, skip, hop, row, bike however you want either;

  • 27 miles
  • 41 miles
  • 69 miles

To raise vital funds for the Hospice during these unprecedented times.   One mile to represent per 10 patients we support.

Why Should You Take Part?

In these extraordinary times it’s important to stay active.                               Every penny raised, helps us to be there

Regular exercise is beneficial for both your mind and body.                           for patients with a life-limiting illness.

This is a virtual event so you can take part wherever you are, even at home;

– Walk or hop in the garden, walk or scoot around your neighbourhood, jog up and down stairs, bike or run in your local community, use a treadmill or rowing machine if you have one.

Why not encourage your friends, family and colleagues to join in and see who can clock up the most miles;

– there are fundraising prizes too!

So if you like being active, want to get a bit fitter or just fancy something to keep you focused, sign up today to take on the Extra Mile Challenge!
