Dale Mcarthy (2nd from right) with his 1000 hour certificate

The start of the month saw a wonderful volunteer recognition event hosted by GAVO (Gwent Association of Voluntary Organisations) to celebrate the dedication and hard work of some truly inspirational people.

Becoming a volunteer at any organisation is a big commitment so it’s important that we all take the time to acknowledge the selflessness associated with doing so; and this couldn’t be more apparent in the case of Dale Mcarthy who has recently completed his 1000th hour of volunteer work here at Hospice of the Valleys.

Dale volunteers as a Vehicle Assistant so spends most of his time loading and delivering furniture donations made to our 5 shops, which can be physically demanding at times, making Dale’s commitment of 1000 hours all the more impressive.

So from everyone here at the Hospice, a huge ‘THANK YOU’ goes to Dale and all those who give up their time to support Hospice of the Valleys.
