Rugby Dinner and Auction Night raises over £2000 for the Hospice.
On the evening of December 19th 2018 Damien Jenkins of EVRFC Mini and Junior Section and Ryan Shepherd of The Welfare Ebbw Vale organised An Evening with Sam Warburton and George North which was compared by the great Eddie Butler.
Over 100 people attended for a 3 course Christmas dinner along with a Raffle and sport memorabilia auction.
Items kindly donated by George including his signed boots from the autumn internationals and Lions framed signed top were up for grabs.
“Previously we have held these events and raised money for the EVRFC mini and junior section but this being the biggest one so far we decided that The Hospice was the charity of choice. The event raised a fantastic £2165 for the charity.”
“The Hospice does amazing work in and around our community and holds a special place for so many people including myself and Ryan.” said Ryan.
The event received a huge amount of positive feedback how each event gets better and better and “however can you improve on that!” so challenge excepted… Watch this space!
Special thanks for support go out too:
Ron Skinner and Sons of Tredegar.
Sean Seaward of SRS Valeting of Tredegar.
Rob Sevenoaks of Weeks Wholesale Meat, Llanishen
Staff and Chef at The Welfare for great food and service
Martyn Cook, Ebbw Vale RFC team manager (for being Damien’s wingman on the evening!!)
Without the above mentioned the night would not have been so successful!
Thank you from all patients, families and staff at the Hospice your wonderful donation!
