Courtney recently participated in the Cardiff Half Marathon with a Hospice Charity Space and raised an incredible £1,520.

What a fantastic personal achievement whilst raising vital funds for patients and their oved ones.  This would typically help pay for 61 home visits by a Specialist Palliative Care Nurse.  Helping patients to manage their pain and symptoms and to be as comfortable as possible with the best quality of care and compassion.

When asked about her motivation to support the Hospice and her experience, Courtney had these lovely words to say,

“I want to raise awareness for this amazing charity as well as fundraise for them to continue their work in the local area. The Hospice is a close charity to my heart as they have supported and comforted close family around me. They have continuously shown their efforts and hard work to provide the best care for their patients and their family members.”

On the day of the Cardiff Half Marathon I was very nervous, I really didn’t know what to expect! I found it very challenging when I got to mile 10, but the crowd was marvellous and they kept me going. After I completed the Half Marathon I was very emotional, I felt really proud of myself for raising so much money for the Hospice, it was a massive achievement for me as I have always wanted to compete in a half marathon.

The support I had that day from my partner, family, friends and the Hospice was incredible. I would definitely recommend taking part in an event like this. Sunday the 2nd of October 2022 will be a day that I will remember and cherish forever.

Honestly, I would do it all over again!
