

During the course of a working week, our clinical team staff can walk at least a half marathon whilst out visiting patients in the their homes, care home or local hospital.

Can you run, walk, crawl a half marathon and help support our patients living with a life-limiting illness and those who matter most to them.

With Cardiff Half Marathon deferred until March 2021, we’re setting you the challenge of completing 13.1 miles anytime during 1st – 11th October. To fill that gap, keep you on your toes and to help raise vital funds for the Hospice during these unprecedented times.

Our Cardiff Half runners would normally raise £ thousands, but with the event deferred until March 2021, this leaves us with a gap in funding now! Can you help fill that gap?

This is a virtual event so you can take part wherever you are; Local community, in the garden, up and down the stairs, use a treadmill or rower if you have one.

Every participant registered receives his or her Hospice Virtual Half Marathon bespoke Finishers Wooden Medal and Certificate.

Sponsorship must be raised and received by the Hospice by 25th October to receive your fundraising prizes.
The more you raise, the more prizes and FREE entries into prize draws to receive.
We’ll be with you virtually cheering you on every mile of the way!

Anyone over the age 18 years of age is able to take part and register themselves.
We also welcome our younger supporters (under 18’s) to join in. A parent/guardian must complete the registration form, providing consent to take part in the challenge and all under 18’s must be supervised by a paying parent/guardian over the age of 18 years.

Set up your fundraising page by linking to the Hospice of the Valleys Virtual Half Marathon Campaign on Just Giving.
Just Giving now allows you to link your strava to your just giving page – how to do this can be found on the Just Giving Page.
During your challenge send us your photos – we love to see our supporters getting involved and everyone loves to take a selfie these days. Upload your challenge photos to our Events Face Book Page – Join Here
Once you have completed your distance, email us your evidence (strava/watch/photo) and once your sponsorship has been raised and received by 25th October, we will send out your well-deserved finisher’s medal, certificate and fundraising prizes as outlined above.
