This Hospice Care Week 2026, I’m proud to stand alongside our incredible staff, volunteers, supporters and communities to champion the difference hospice care makes every day.

Across Wales, hospices support more than 20,000 children and adults every year, but rising demand, increasing costs and uncertainty over funding are putting growing pressure on services.

At Hospice of the Valleys, we want to continue being there for people and their families when they need us most.

To make that possible, hospices need a fair, stable and sustainable funding settlement that recognises the essential role we play within health and social care.

Everyone deserves access to high-quality hospice care, wherever they live.
