During the COVID 19 pandemic Public Health Wales guidance recommends face-to-face visits be kept to a minimum, only take place when essential and once all other options have been considered. Any visits will be based on managing the risks to the person/s and staff.
This checklist includes some of the questions our staff will ask and will have considered prior to a face-to-face visit.
Before visiting we will discuss other ways of meeting with you. This could be via telephone, skype, zoom or attend anywhere. If you would prefer an alternative method of contact please ask a member of our team.
We will consider the purpose of the visit and what the the current risks are to you and your family.
Prior to an agreed visit a member of staff will contact you directly to ensure the visit is required at this time.
We will ask:
- Who will be present during the visit?
- Are there any environmental risks in the property i.e. animals?
- What is the health status of any individuals who will be present during the place?
- Does anyone have COVID-19 symptoms?
- Is anyone self-isolating due to exposure to COVID-19?
- Does anyone have any hearing or visual impairments?
We will explain the requirement for social distancing and make you aware staff will be wearing PPE, which covers their face and any other PPE as required. PPE is to protect our staff and the people in your home.
We have recommenced outpatient appointments and you may be offered this as an alternative venue for your visit.
This could take place in our outdoor space and you will be asked the following prior to your visit:
- Who is attending?
- What is the health status of any individuals who will be present during the place?
- Does anyone have COVID-19 symptoms?
- Is anyone self-isolating due to exposure to COVID-19?
- Does anyone have any hearing or visual impairments?
You will be greeted at the entrance to the building on your arrival and a 2-metre physical distance will be maintained throughout.
PPE may be required for our staff and yourself which is available on the premises if required.
