Here is a testimonial from Rachel at Bridge House around how the Hospice have continued to support them during the pandemic.
Even though Covid-19 has had a huge impact on the care homes across the country we have continued to receive the same level of support from Nicola and the hospice throughout. Though we have not had any Covid-19 cases we have still supported a number of residents who had sadly reached end of life and Nicola has been there throughout this.
The staff and residents have benefitted so much as the support and reassurance continues to be there. The pandemic has brought about fear of visiting a care home so we have seen an increase in other medical professionals relying on the use of ICT equipment to assess. However, Nicola has visited whenever we needed her to, in full PPE. The support she provides to the staff has not altered.
Covid-19 has had a huge impact and families have not been able to spend the time with their families. This has increased pressure on staff especially emotionally and Nicola has helped support them through this.
The residents have benefited greatly especially those that Nicola has helped support. We have had a number of residents pass away peacefully here and we couldn’t have accomplished that without the help of the hospice.
At the start of the outbreak we did a sponsored sing along for the hospice. During a rather scary time it gave us something positive to focus on and achieve.
We would like to thank Nicola and everyone at the Hospice for their continued support.
