At Hospice of the Valleys, we take the security of our supporters data extremely seriously which is why we want to highlight an event that may have resulted in the disclosure of personal data.

We would like to confirm that:

  • The incident has been resolved
  • We have no reason to believe that any data has or will be misused
  • The incident did not include your credit / debit card information or bank details
  • No patient or clinical information was included

What happened?

We were recently notified by one of our third-party service providers of a security incident in which a copy of our backup file which may have contained your personal information was accessed.

We have received confirmation from our provider that the incident has now been resolved, and that following an investigation, they have no reason to believe that your data was or will be misused.

Ensuring the safety of your data is of the utmost importance to us and we would like to sincerely apologise for any concern this may cause you.

You don’t need to take any action as we believe this incident has now been resolved.  We just wanted to notify you so that you can remain vigilant and would advise that if you experience any suspicious activity, that you report it to the Information Commissioners Office.
