Light Up A Life

Losing someone you love is undoubtedly the hardest thing any of us will go through.  But to lose someone during, or because of, the current COVID-19 pandemic is even more heart-breaking.

Dedicate a light on our ‘virtual’ tree in memory of a loved one by clicking HERE.

At Hospice of the Valleys, we understand the devastating impact grief can have on those who are left behind when someone dies and its why, this Christmas, we’re extending a very warm invitation to you and your family.

Please join with us to remember and celebrate the life of someone special to you as part of our annual Light up a Life campaign.

Now more than ever before Light up a Life is a wonderful way for our community to come together to remember, reflect and celebrate the lives of those loved ones we’re unable to spend Christmas with this year.

Due to the current restrictions we are unable to have a physical tree this year, however instead you can dedicate a light to your loved one on our beautiful ‘Virtual’ tree.

Create your dedication HERE

As part of your dedication you can also write a message, add a photo, make a donation to the Hospice and also share the dedication with family and friends so they can add to it.

As well as remembering your loved ones during these difficult times, making a donation to our Light up a Life campaign will help fund the wonderful work that the Hospice does within our local community, supporting all those affected by a life limiting illness when they need us the most. And our support doesn’t stop when a loved one dies.

A gift of just £23.02, would pay for one hour of bereavement support for a heartbroken family like Chris Tiley and his daughters, Aimee and Meselle.  They are facing their first Christmas alone following the death of Jacqui, their devoted wife and mother, in April this year. Read their touching story below.

Join us for our ‘Virtual’ Light up a Life Service

Due to the restrictions this year we will be unable to hold any physical Light up a Life services within the local community.
However, instead we plan to live stream a service so you can still feel part of something very special and we can all still join together to remember and celebrate the lives of those loved ones not with us this Christmas.

Please join us for the ‘virtual’ service, which will be live-streamed from our Facebook page @HOTVFundraisingDept on 3rd December at 6pm.  You will also be able to view the recording on our YouTube channel.

You don’t need to have a connection with the hospice to join our heart-warming and up-lifting Light up a Life campaign – everyone in our local community is warmly invited to take part.

Additionally we are now offering Bereavement Support to anyone living in Blaenau Gwent and Merthyr Tydfil so if you are bereaved and struggling with your grief, please get in touch or visit our bereavement page.  Again you don’t need to have a connection with the hospice to take advantage of this valuable support.
