Are you ready to take the plunge into a world of revitalising\, refreshing\, and invigorating experiences? \nHospice Dip A Day May challenge is a great way to help raise awareness of the Hospice and the work we do – plus it’s an amazing way to fundraising to help support our patients and their loved ones. \n  \n \n  \nAbout the challenge\nImmerse Yourself in Cold Water every day this May for Hospice of the Valleys. \nYou don’t need to be a swimmer or open water expert to take part – there are lots of way you can get involved. \nSimply immerse yourself in a cold shower\, an icy bath\, paddling pool in the garden\, dip at the beach or a chilly lido for 30 seconds each day. It certainly won’t be easy\, but it will leave you feeling good in mind and body – and the money you raise will truly help to make a difference. \n  \nChallenge Details\n  \nDate: May 2025\nLocation: Virtual\nRegistration Fee: £5.00 per dipper\nWhat’s included in the price: Hospice Buff\, Dip A Day challenge card and certificate.\n  \nFundraising\nWe’re asking our dippers to take the plunge and raise £110.84 which will typically pay for half a day’s nursing support for a patient. \nEveryone who raises the minimum sponsorship amount will receive a Hospice Supporters T Shirt and entered into a prize draw. \nYou can fundraising by using our Hospice Sponsorship Form in your welcome email or set up a Just Giving page. \n  \nWhy should I get involved?\n\nHelping others: Take the plunge and you’ll feel great whilst raising vital funds for patients and their loved ones in their moment of greatest need.\nBoost Your Immune System: Cold water dips have been shown to stimulate the immune system\, helping your body ward off illnesses and infections.\nEnhance Circulation: Cold water immersion can improve circulation\, potentially reducing the risk of cardiovascular issues.\nMood Enhancement: Experience an adrenaline rush and the release of endorphins\, leaving you with a natural high and a brighter outlook on life.\nStress Reduction: Cold water dips are known for their stress-relieving properties\, helping you unwind and relax.\n\n  \nYour safety\nYour health and safety is our top priority. Hospice of the Valleys shall not be liable for any injury\, damage or loss to you or your property that might occur as a result of your participation. \n  \n  \n \n  \n \n \n \nMeet our corporate sponsor\n \nAt Cwmdu Contrast we’re passionate about the benefits of cold water dipping for your mental and physical health. We offer private one-hour guided contrast therapy sessions for individuals or groups of up to 10 people. The contrast of our wood-fired sauna for 10-minutes and then dipping in our ice baths for 2-5 minutes and repeating this three times\, while enjoying mountain views of the Brecon Beacons\, will make you feel revitalised and relaxed. The Dip a Day challenge is a fantastic way to encourage everyone to try out cold water dipping and get you feeling the benefits! \n
